In response to the urgent need for search and rescue assistance in Maui, Hawaii, Washington State Task Force 1 has deployed a Type III team to assist in Hawaii search and rescue efforts. This specialized team, consisting of 45 dedicated individuals, draws from the combined strengths and resources of Pierce and King Counties, and the City of Seattle.
We are proud to highlight that members of the Redmond Fire Department are integral to this mission. Among them are Battalion Chief Caleb Freeman, serving as the incident safety officer, and Lieutenant Josh Holthenrichs, who is leading the charge as a search specialist.
The deployment of our team underscores our commitment to not just local but national emergencies. When crises emerge, it's through collective efforts that we can truly make a difference, ensuring the safety and security of all involved.
We are immensely proud of every responder who has stepped forward in this mission. When individuals unite in crisis, collaboration becomes our greatest strength. Our responders exemplify the power of unity in adversity.
As we lend our hands to help our neighbors in Hawaii, our primary concern remains the safety of our deployed team. We have the utmost confidence in their training, capabilities, and spirit. We believe that their expertise will play a critical role in the ongoing search and rescue operations in Hawaii.
Our thoughts are with all affected by the situation in Hawaii. We also send our deepest hopes and wishes for the safe return of all our responders, who epitomize the spirit of service.
