Redmond Police Re-Arrest Local Man on New Child Molestation Charges

REDMOND, WA - Redmond Police detectives re-arrested Buckland L. Darrell on Tuesday, April 11, for having sexual contact with male minors. Darrell, 44, of Redmond, is charged with four additional counts of first-degree child molestation involving three new victims. He is being held in King County Jail on $500,000 bail.

This is the second time Redmond Police have arrested Darrell this year and the third time he has been arrested in the last six months on similar charges.

Redmond detectives first arrested Darrell in March 2023 after he allegedly had sexual contact with a male minor in 2020 while attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Redmond. In December 2022, an outside agency arrested Darrell for child molestation involving another minor victim. Darrell was released on bail in both cases.

The cases have similarities in that the victims are male, under the age of 12, and the incidents occurred near or in the presence of the victims’ family members. The new victims are also affiliated with the LDS church.

After his arrest, Darrell provided statements to police indicating there were additional victims but did not provide further details or names.

Over the last decade, Darrell has attended many church events and gatherings. Redmond police believe there are potentially more minor victims and ask anyone with information to please contact the Redmond Police Department tip line at 425-556-2500.
