View the State of the City Address
Last week, Mayor Birney presented her 2023 State of the City address at a hybrid meeting hosted by OneRedmond. During her address, Mayor Birney praised the importance of community partnerships as she shared accomplishments of the past year and priorities for the future.
It’s Earth Month! Be sure to read the digital spring Focus newsletter, which includes expanded features about ensuring our sustainable future. There are classes, workshops, events, and other opportunities that highlight the City’s commitment to sustainability.
The Wastemobile will visit Redmond from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 7 – 9 at Home Depot (17777 NE 76th Street, Redmond). Dispose of up to 50 gallons of household hazardous waste for no fee. Visit their website for details on what is and is not accepted and hazardous waste safety tips.
April is National Poetry Month, an opportunity to read and appreciate the importance of poetry and poets in society. You can discover a poem from Redmond’s own poet laureate, Laura Da’, in the spring Focus.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Month in April, we encourage you to share your extra time and come alongside others to help those in the community. For example, you can partner with local nonprofit agencies and support their work in providing resources to community members in need or volunteer at Derby Days, the City’s signature summer event.
