Learn About Redmond’s First Electric Fire Engine
In alignment with Redmond’s commitment to sustainability, the City recently received a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology toward 25% of the purchase of an electric fire engine, expected to arrive in about 25 months. Redmond will be the first agency in the state to receive the grant, and the engine will be the first electric fire engine in Washington, as well as one of the first few in the country.
The Redmond Police Department is looking for community members to help advise on issues of equity, transparency, and community relations. The Community Equity Action Team (CEAT) was formed in 2018 and is comprised of people who live or work in Redmond, and includes multiple perspectives from commonly underrepresented voices.
To get ready for this spring and summer season, Redmond is hosting a hiring event on March 1, at the City’s Maintenance Operations Center (18080 NE 76th St.). Gain valuable work experience and make a difference in your community. Attend one of two sessions:
Redmond is seeking community input on its draft 2023 Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) plan. The SWMP plan includes the City’s stormwater management activities and priorities to meet Clean Water Act permit obligations. Share your thoughts on this vital piece of the City’s environmental sustainability vision.
The City is accepting applications for the Library Board of Trustees. This is open to Redmond residents within the city limits with a 98052 zip code who have an interest in library-related issues and activities. The board enhances the quality of life in Redmond by advising the Mayor and City Council on library policy, representing Redmond’s interests to the King County Library System, and promoting local interest in the library.
