Learn About New Pedestrian Safety Upgrades

New flashing lights were installed on 160th Ave NE at the crosswalk to Bella Bottega shopping center. The existing pedestrian light was also replaced with a full-scale luminaire, bringing more light to this frequented crossing that also services a school bus stop. City staff continue working to make Redmond safer for all travelers, both on foot and in vehicles.

Water treatment

See How We Keep Lake Sammamish Clean

The newly completed NE 40th Street Water Quality Facility began operation last month. It helps clean stormwater runoff before it enters Villa Marina Creek and flows to Lake Sammamish. Water that runs off of roads and other hard surfaces and into stormwater sewers in the vicinity will pass through a hydrodynamic separator, which removes debris and larger sediment before being pumped into a specially designed bioscape where plants and soil will filter out remaining pollutants.
