Keep students safe

Welcome Back Students and Do Your Part to Keep Them Safe

As students and families gear up for the 2022-23 school year, it is important for us to work together to keep the streets safer. There are a variety of ways you can help keep students safe by:

  • Driving 20 mph or less in school zones
  • Disconnecting from distractions – including your phone and navigation system
  • Knowing the laws about when to pass school buses

Sound Transit Updates

Stay Up to Date on Sound Transit’s Arrival to Redmond

Recently, Sound Transit released new information regarding the opening dates for projects across the Puget Sound region, including the East Link and Redmond Link extensions. While the East Link extension in Overlake was planned to open in 2023, systemwide construction challenges are currently projected to delay the completion by at least a year. The Downtown Redmond extension was planned to open near the end of 2024 and based on the most recent assessments, completion of construction for the Downtown Redmond Link Extension may be impacted by four to six months.

While there is a delay, Sound Transit continues to make significant progress on bringing light rail to the Eastside, which will increase access to those who live, work, and play in Redmond.
