Observing Memorial Day
Remembering those who gave their lives, city facilities will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. Fire, police, and other critical services will remain fully operational. City Hall will reopen to the community at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31.
Recognizing the City’s Financial Strength
Recently, Standard and Poor’s (S&P) Global Ratings reaffirmed the City of Redmond's AAA bond rating. This is the highest possible rating, which is directly related to the City’s financial strength, strong liquidity, and financial policies. In addition to showcasing the City’s responsible financial management, a high bond rating saves taxpayers money by lowering interest rates.
Redmond is sponsoring a free shredding event from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, at the Bella Bottega QFC Parking Lot (8867 161st Ave. NE, Redmond) for all Redmond residents. This is a great opportunity to securely shred any documents with important personal information. For safety, please remain in your vehicle.
Lane closures on NE 90th Street, between Willows Road and Redmond-Woodinville Road, may begin as soon as this week. Crews will replace sections of distressed roadway and upgrade pedestrian ramps and signals to improve ADA accessibility. Primary working hours will be 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, but night and weekend work is also possible in nonresidential areas.
The City is partnering with Bloodworks Northwest on July 20, 21, and 22 to host a donor center at the City’s Public Safety Building Training Room (8701 160th Ave. NE, Redmond). The community is encouraged to join city staff in this three-day effort. Donating blood is an essential and encouraged activity critical to sustaining community healthcare. Face masks and a photo ID are required at check-in.
