Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond has three openings to serve four-year terms on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). In alignment with the Washington state RCW 67.28.1817, the City is recruiting candidates interested in tourism-related activities. One of the three vacancies will be filled by an individual who represents a business required to collect tax under the RCW, such as a hotel. The remaining two vacancies shall be filled by individuals who are involved in programs in the City of Redmond authorized to be funded by lodging tax revenue such as:

  • Tourism marketing
  • Marketing and operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists
  • Supporting the operations and capital expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by a municipality or a public facilities district created under chapters 35.57 and 36.100 RCW
  • Operations of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by nonprofit organizations as defined by the IRC 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6)

The LTAC’s role is to advise the Mayor and City Council on options to enhance tourism activities in Redmond, making recommendations on special event matching grants to the City Council, and later reviewing the success of those completed events, reviewing proposals from the City’s marketing consultant, and proposing changes to the Tourism Promotion Program. The seven-member volunteer committee meets quarterly, or as needed.

To learn more about LTAC and to apply, please visit www.redmond.gov/Commissions. Complete the application and include your resume or letter of interest. There is no deadline, but interested individuals are encouraged to apply by 5 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2022. The positions will remain open until filled.
