Redmond, WA – At last night’s meeting, the Redmond City Council approved Mayor Angela Birney’s appointment of Michael Marchand as the City of Redmond’s new Technology and Information Systems (TIS) Director.
“I am happy to welcome Michael Marchand as the newest member of Redmond’s leadership team,” said Mayor Birney. “Mike’s knowledge, collaborative approach, and extensive experience in all aspects of technology will be a tremendous asset to the City and our community.”
Michael Marchand will begin as Redmond’s TIS director on October 18, 2021. He comes to the City of Redmond with 26 years of technology experience in both the private and public sectors, most recently as Director of Enterprise Technology Services at Central Washington University.
Originally from Canada, Director Marchand holds a bachelor’s degree of Computer Information Systems from the University of the Fraser Valley, a Master of Science in Information Technology from Central Washington University, and various technical and leadership certifications.
