What Does a Welcoming Community Mean to You?
As Redmond celebrates National Welcoming Week September 10 -19, Mayor Birney asks the city’s new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager and the CEO of the Muslim Community Resource Center to share what a welcoming community looks like and why it is so important.
Come to Grass Lawn Park in September for free demonstrations from an expert in sustainable living. You’ll learn great tips and leave with a gift to help you live more sustainably. Join us Friday, September 10, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., and in the evenings on September 13 and 20, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
Welcoming Week, September 10-19, 2021, is a national celebration to encourage and support communities to be welcoming places for all. The City of Redmond will host three events across the city and invites the community to attend. All events are free and do not require registration.
Chinook “King” salmon have been seen in the Sammamish River! Enjoy good views from the south side of the trestle on the Redmond Connector Trail, and at the Marymoor Pedestrian Bridge. Note that salmon are usually more active in the mornings and that polarized sunglasses help take the glare off the water.
