EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

August 7, 2021

REDMOND, Wash. -  On Friday August 6, 2021, the Redmond Police Department arrested two former Redmond residents for investigation of murder.

On the morning of February 17, 2021, Redmond officers were called to an apartment in the 18300 block of NE 98 Way. Arriving with medical personnel, officers discovered a 10-week old male infant deceased in the apartment. Jazon Gregory was left in the care of two adult friends of his mother while she was traveling out of state.

The subsequent investigation into Jazon’s death by detectives revealed facts supporting gross negligence by the two adults responsible for the child’s care. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death to be a homicide.

Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe stated, “The death of an infant child impacts everyone in our community. I’m proud of our officers and detectives who worked on this difficult case as we seek to provide justice for Jazon and his family.”

The adults were taken into custody without incident and booked into the King County Correctional Facility. Redmond Detectives have forwarded charges of 2nd Degree Murder for both individuals to the King County Prosecutor’s Office.
