Redmond Police Release 911 Audio and Case Reports from Arrest of Mr. Richard Sherman 

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

July 15, 2021

REDMOND, Wash. – The Redmond Police Department has released audio from 911 calls and case reports related to the July 14, 2021, arrest of Richard Sherman. Several 911 communications centers in the region received calls related to this case. The Redmond Police Department Communications/911 Center handled the 911 calls received from the residence of the incident. 

At approximately 1:49 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, Redmond police officers were called to a Redmond residence for a reported in-progress burglary. Officers arrived at approximately 2:04 a.m. and took steps to safely locate the suspect while the residents remained inside the home. Officers arrested Sherman outside of the residence. The initial charges have been filed with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office; no additional charges are expected from the Redmond Police Department. The case remains active, as Redmond Police Detectives conduct routine follow-up.
