Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond is aware of and reviewing information related to a
data breach of Automatic Funds Transfer Services, Inc. (AFTS), a provider who prints and distributes City utility billing statements. Personal information may have been exposed including names and addresses of utility customers. The City of Redmond is working closely with AFTS to determine the extent of the breach and if any of the City’s information was compromised.

City of Redmond utility customers should expect this month’s invoice to look slightly different, as it will be manually printed and distributed by City staff. In addition, the City asks that utility customers not respond to any inquiries about their utility bill, in the event that it could be a fraudulent inquiry. Customers may contact City of Redmond utilities at 425-556-2152 or utilitybilling@redmond.gov.

For questions and more information, contact Lisa Maher, Communications & Marketing Manager, at lmaher@redmond.gov or 425-556-2427. This press release is available on www.redmond.gov/PressReleases.
