Redmond Appoints New Fire Chief

REDMOND, WA - At last night’s meeting, the Redmond City Council approved Mayor Angela Birney’s appointment of Adrian Sheppard as the City of Redmond’s new Fire Chief.
“Chief Sheppard brings extensive fire service knowledge, public safety background, professional expertise, and leadership skills to his new role at the City of Redmond,” states Mayor Birney. “I am confident Sheppard’s proven track record and many successes will carry over to his work at the City and prove to be an asset to our community.”
Sheppard is a 24-year member of the fire service and a retired Air Force Officer. He began his career in Oakland, CA, before heading to Richmond, CA in 2014 to serve as Fire Chief. Sheppard received his bachelor’s degree in aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a master’s degree in disaster preparedness from Grand Canyon University, and a master’s in security studies from the Naval Postgraduate School. His first day at the City of Redmond is scheduled for Monday, February 1.
