REDMOND, WA - The City of Redmond is seeking letters of interest from prospective partners to finance, build, and operate up to an additional 60,000-square feet at the future Redmond Senior and Community Center building. The City seeks a qualified, creative partner that will enhance the new Redmond Senior and Community Center and provide demonstrable community benefits. A prospective partner will propose a complementary use to the City’s Senior and Community Center, such as affordable housing, urban school, cultural center(s), etc.

Partners interested in this unique opportunity are encouraged to submit a Letter of Interest that includes the respondent’s approach to programming, financing, timeline, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of the proposed space at the Redmond Senior and Community Center. More details regarding the Request for Letters of Interest are available at www.redmond.gov/bids. Letters of Interest are due on December 23, 2020, by 4 p.m.

The Redmond Senior Center closed in September 2019, after the City discovered that the building's structural integrity was compromised. The building's demolition is scheduled for November 2020. Extensive community outreach campaigns invited the community to share their vision for a new Redmond Senior Center building and narrow down the options for City Council consideration. On October 22, 2020, Redmond City Council authorized the City to move forward with a design process for the building. The community will be invited to be involved in the design process in early 2021.
