Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond is aware of a security/data incident related to “attackwa.org” and “pnwfraud.org,” which are operated by Netsential.com. The Redmond Police Department uses services provided by the vendor but is not yet aware if any City of Redmond data has been impacted. The Redmond Police and Technology & Information Services departments are working with the vendor to determine the scope of this incident. This data breach is currently under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Attackwa.org has been live since January 2018 and is used by public and private law enforcement partners to create and distribute information via email lists. The most common documents shared are crime information bulletins that are used to assist in the identification of suspects, solve crimes, and connect regional incidents. These bulletins often contain identifying information, such as full name and date of birth of people under investigation of criminal activity.
