Redmond, WA – Every even year, the City recruits a team of community members to support Redmond’s Budgeting by Priorities process instituted in 2008. This innovative budgeting process has been used to develop the City’s last six biennial budgets, including setting performance measures for the services provided by the City. This process has moved the focus of Redmond’s budget activities from one of evaluating budget increments to focusing on programs most valued by the community.

The City has begun the process again for the 2021-2022 biennial budget and needs members of the community to volunteer for an important role of serving on the Civics Results Team. This team will assess programs and will work to evaluate City services that are essential to the community in the context of the priorities and the City’s vision. The Civics Results team efforts will adhere to all City, county and state safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interested residents or those who work in Redmond are encouraged to apply by sending a letter of interest to Mayor Birney at mayor@redmond.gov. Volunteer requirements include the flexibility to meet with City staff for two hours in the evening and the ability to devote up to five working hours over a period of two weeks between late June and early July 2020. Letters of interest will be accepted for consideration until June 19, 2020.
