Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond invites you to learn about and provide feedback regarding Redmond’s first Cultural Resources Management Plan (Plan). Join City staff for a brief presentation and discussion on Wednesday, June 19, 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th Street.
The Plan will provide procedures and tools for protecting and managing cultural resources – artifacts and features associated with human presence dating back approximately 14,000 years. By developing the Cultural Resources Management Plan, the City will update Comprehensive Plan policies and the Redmond Zoning Code - providing more predictability and proactive protocols concerning archaeological resources in areas of development or other ground disturbances. Participants’ insights will inform the City about tools and resources that can help ensure protection of archaeological and cultural resources when development and construction occur.
The community is invited to help Redmond ensure that the corresponding regulations and procedures are easily implementable and provide the highest possible degree of efficiency.
