Public Hearing Regarding Sale of City Property for Light Rail

Redmond, WA – The Redmond City Council will hold a public hearing to hear public testimony on a proposed resolution to declare certain City utility and non-utility assets and property rights surplus to the City’s needs and authorize their release or sale. 

The public hearing will take place during the City Council meeting on June 18, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St., Redmond. The utility assets and easements proposed to be declared surplus are generally located along the alignment of the Downtown Redmond Link Extension, which runs along the east side of SR 520 from NE 40th St. until the alignment crosses over W. Lake Sammamish Parkway NE, then along the south side of SR 520 to the interchange with SR 202 / Redmond Way, then northwest under SR 520 and continuing in the Redmond Central Connector corridor in Downtown Redmond to the terminus station spanning 166th Ave NE.   

Two non-utility properties are proposed to be declared surplus: 1) a narrow strip along the west edge of tax parcel 2182500050, located on the west side of the 5400 block of 154th Ave NE; and 2) all of tax parcel 9435300076, located on the west side of the 6400 block of 156th Ave NE. The proposed use for both properties is light rail guideway and associated infrastructure.
