Redmond CIP Projects Impacted by 302 Strike

Washington members of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE)
Local 302 went on strike yesterday, and some of City of Redmond’s construction
projects are being affected. The City currently has 17 public projects in
construction. Five projects are already slowed or stopped because of the strike,
and four more will be impacted if the strike lasts more than a couple of weeks.
The two most visible projects are Safe Routes to school project that is adding a
sidewalk on Redmond-Woodinville road and the NE 31st street widening
project near 156th Ave NE by Microsoft. Some work is still
progressing but concrete pours and asphalt repairs will not occur or will be significantly
limited by striking operators with the suppliers.

no asphalt restoration work
