REDMOND, WA - Police arrested a woman today that they believe is responsible for the death of her wife at a Redmond apartment. A 26-year-old woman was found dead in their home in the 18700 block Redmond Way of just before 9 p.m. on April 3.

Detectives tracked down the 26-year-old suspect earlier today and detained her without incident as she was disembarking a bus in Redmond.

The couple’s roommate called police Tuesday evening after he became concerned that he had not heard from them in a few days. He went to check on them and discovered the deceased victim in the couple’s bedroom.

The official cause of death has not yet been determined but there was severe trauma to the victim’s body. Initial evidence suggests she had been dead for several days.

“The investigation is far from complete, but everything indicates this was a tragic domestic violence incident and there was no danger to the public,” said Redmond Police Lt. Tim Gately.

The identity of the victim will be released after her family is notified by the King County Medical Examiner. The suspect was booked into King County Jail Wednesday evening on suspicion of homicide and is awaiting formal charges.
