Port of Tacoma Commission to meet March 19
Commissioners on March 19 will consider a budget authorization to proceed to 60% design for the new Port Maritime Center, and an amendment to an interlocal agreement with Tacoma Public Schools. Commissioners will also consider a proclamation for Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

The meeting begins at 12 p.m. at The Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road, room 104. Meetings are streamed live on the Port’s website and also archived for later viewing. Join us for a special Earth Day beach cleanup event, presented in partnership with Metro Parks Tacoma on Saturday, April 13, from 12-2 pm at Dickman Mill Park. Lessons aboard the Doolin-Rogers connect students to the sea
Aboard the M/V Doolin-Rogers, it’s not just a sea voyage. It’s a journey. The Doolin-Rogers is the new training vessel of the Youth Marine Foundation (YMF), which is based at the Tacoma Youth Marine Center on Port of Tacoma property. YMF bought the vessel in 2022 and the Port of Tacoma provided funding through its Local Development Investment Fund to help bring it into regulatory compliance. Watch now ⇒

Coming on March 26: Maritime Safety Training Day
The Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board will offer a full-day workplace safety and health training for the maritime industry on Tuesday, March 26 at the Puyallup Fair Mattress Firm ShowPlex. There will be a keynote address, a feature on sailor overboard, and nine presentations. 33 exhibitors will be on hand to show their latest and greatest tools and technology. Learn more and register ⇒
