Port of Tacoma Commission to consider second agreement for Port maritime center project
On August 15, Port of Tacoma commissioners will vote on a second interlocal agreement with Tacoma Public Schools for the next planning phase of a new Port Maritime Center and Maritime 253 Skills Center. The Port and the school district are in the process of selecting a design-build team and the next interlocal agreement is needed to advance the project through the design and cost estimate stage.
Commissioners will also consider accepting a grant related to flood control and stormwater infrastructure and authorization of clean-up planning at the Earley Business Center site. Authorization for interim action design at the former Arkema site is also on the agenda, as is a resolution updating the code of governance and conduct.
The meeting begins at 12 p.m. at The Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road, room 104. Meetings are streamed live on the Port’s website and also archived for later viewing. Public comment may be given in person at the meeting or sent by email to comment@portoftacoma.com. Please visit our public comment procedure page for more information.
