Habitat mitigation strategy and financial update on the agenda for Thursday’s Port commission meeting
Included on the agenda for commissioner’s consideration at Thursday's meeting is an updated Habitat Mitigation Strategy, an update to the Master Policy Resolution, and grant acceptance and project authorization for work associated with the Arkema Manufacturing Area Interim Action. The meeting begins at 12 p.m. at The Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road, room 104. Meetings are streamed live on the Port’s website and also archived for later viewing.  Port leading the way on habitat restoration
You may have noticed a striking new project taking shape on a piece of land along Highway 509, near Alexander Way, and wondered what is going on there. This piece of property, with its beautiful landscaping, trees, and meandering stream bed is the location of the Port of Tacoma’s new Lower Wapato Creek habitat restoration site. Read more ⇒

 11th Street viaduct demolition project
The City of Tacoma has began the demolition of the 11th Street viaduct starting with the access ramp directly adjacent to the Port Administration Building. They plan on completing the demo by the fall of 2022 stopping at the Puyallup River bridge. Tacoma closed the bridge in 2014 after deteriorated joints, beams and trusses became a safety concern.

 Join the Port Biologist for Earth Day Tours
Join Jenn, the Port of Tacoma’s biologist, for a walking tour Friday, April 22 around the Port's Lower Wapato Creek habitat mitigation site. The striking property features nearly 20 acres of estuary, wetlands, and forested buffer to help increase the diversity and density of fish, bird, and other wildlife.  NWSA Annual Trade Report Released
The Northwest Seaport Alliance 2021 Annual Cargo Trade Report is now available. The report highlights 2021 activity and includes country, port, and commodity breakdowns, as well as profiles on our top ten trading partners.
