Women's History Month proclamation and Master Policy Directive updates on Thursday's commission meeting agenda
The agenda for Thursday's Port of Tacoma Commission meeting includes a proclamation in recognition of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day and annual updates to the Master Policy Directive. The commission will also consider an Interlocal Agreement with Pierce County regarding the Clear Creek Flood Gate Retrofit and Clear Creek Habitat Restoration project. Read the full agenda ⇒

 State legislature passes key funding
Last week, the Washington state legislature passed the 2022 supplemental capital budget, which included $2 million funding for the Port of Tacoma to construct an Off Dock Container Yard, increasing terminal capacity by 20%. They also passed the "Move Ahead WA" package, which included funding for work on the I-5/Port of Tacoma Road Interchange and the completion of State Route 167. Read more ⇒

 Tideflat traffic update: Taylor Way
On Thursday, March 17 and Friday, March 18, Tacoma Water will be sending workers to repair vault lids that have settled on Taylor Way.
This work will close the west-bound lane, shifting traffic into the center lane. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times. Please plan accordingly.

 New electric yard trucks arrive at the port
Earlier this month, the first All-Electric Cargo Equipment arrived at Tacoma’s South Intermodal Yard: six yard trucks outfitted with the zero-emission technology. These electric trucks are an important part of the vision outlined in the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy to reduce maritime emissions, are less expensive to operate and require less maintenance.
