Welcome Back! Time to Check Your School Information

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!

This is a reminder to ensure the State Board of Education (SBE) has the most up-to-date contact information for your principal or head of school. This email also includes information on how to access your school’s Approval Certificate and a preview of key reporting deadlines for the 2026-27 school year.

Please note that any updates must be submitted using the Change of Information Alert form by Friday, September 18, 2026.

Access Your Approval Certificate:

If you haven’t already downloaded your school’s Approval Certificate, clicking the button below will automatically download an Excel file that contains links to each approved school's certificates. You may search by your school name or school code. Watch this video for more information on using the Board's approval certificate platform.

Verify Information:

Check the Application Status Tracker on the Private School Approval page to confirm your school's approval status and the principal or head of school’s name. You can also click this link to download the most recent version (last updated August 26).

Update Information (if needed):

If the head of school information is outdated or incorrect, submit the 2026-27 Private School Change of Information Alert form by Friday, September 18, 2026.

Important: Please submit this form only once per change. After submitting, save your confirmation email and forward it to key staff at your school to prevent duplicate submissions.

No Action Required:

If the information on the Application Statuses List is correct, no further action is needed.

Important Dates & Deadlines

September 18, 2026: Deadline to report head of school changes using the 2026-27 Private School Change of Information Alert.

October 2026: Enrollment Reporting to the State Board of Education. The enrollment window typically opens first day of October and ends on the last day of the month.

November 2026: School Immunization Reporting for the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).

February 2027: Private School Approval Zoom Q&A Sessions. Dates and links to join will be shared at a later time.

March 2027: Renewing Private School Approval Application window opens. Applications due end of business day March 31.

April 2027: Private School Intent to Participate in Federal Programs forms due to OSPI.

June 25, 2027: SBE Board Meeting to vote for 2027–28 Private School Approval.

July 2027: Weapons Reporting to OSPI.

Reporting Platforms

SBE Reports and Applications: Instructions will be provided before due dates.

OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) reports are submitted through the EDS (Education Data System) system.

Department of Health Reports: A portal link will be provided to schools directly.
