Greetings, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Angela Quiram ("Q"), and I recently joined OSPI as a Flexible Learning Options Program Supervisor. I will be working alongside you as a resource, support person, and point of contact for your Open Doors Reengagement programs. While I am new to this role and to OSPI, I bring 23 years of experience in public education. My background includes classroom teaching as well as data, curriculum, and instructional coaching, where I found great joy in partnering with educators to solve problems, build capacity, and support student success for all students. As I settle into this role, I look forward to learning more about your work, hearing your stories, and understanding the unique strengths and challenges of your programs. My goal is to be a responsive and supportive partner as you continue serving students through Open Doors. I will be your point of contact, supported by the team in Learning Options as I learn and grow into this role. Thank you for welcoming me into this community. I look forward to connecting with you soon! |

Review OSPI Bulletin Number B030-25 for important updates on recent dual credit policy, funding, rulemaking, reporting, and implementation changes. It consolidates legislative updates and agency guidance. Additionally, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has identified technical assistance and professional learning opportunities to aid in the administration of the programs.
After many months of research, stakeholder and community engagement, feedback, and revisions, the OSPI team published the final revised K–12 English Language Arts Learning Standards last week. The standards have been updated to reflect current research about literacy and to prepare students for the realities of 21st century communication by helping them become skilled, knowledgeable decision-makers through the inclusion of media literacy and digital citizenship. Please see OSPI’s bulletin announcing the formal adoption of the ELA standards for more information and links to documents.
