The State Board of Education will convene virtually on April 15–16 for a regularly scheduled meeting.
On Wednesday, April 15, the Board will call the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. Following approval of the consent agenda, members will receive an update from Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal. On Thursday, April 16, the Board will reconvene at 12:30 p.m. The day will begin with an update from the Board’s executive director. The Board will then discuss its advocacy goals for the 2027 legislative session. Afterwards, Board staff will provide a summary of takeaways from Wednesday’s FutureReady work session and highlight outstanding questions where Board members will provide additional feedback and direction to staff. After a break, members will receive a presentation from Board and OSPI staff on how students with disabilities are supported in meeting grade-level standards and state graduation requirements. The Board will also receive an update on its Draft Centennial Accord Plan for Tribal Consultation. Following these presentations, the Board is expected to vote on approval of a waiver of credit-based graduation requirements for Chelan School of Innovation (Lake Chelan School District). The meeting is expected to adjourn at 5:00 p.m.
