End of Year Reporting for Open Doors and ALE
- The end of year reporting application for Open Doors programs will open in early May and will follow the same process in EDS as in past years. Guidance documents are being updated and will be posted to the Open Doors Youth Reengagement Resources webpage soon.

End of year reporting for ALE will also open in early May and will take place through an online webform process. A link and instruction guide will be posted to the Alternative Learning Experience webpage soon.
Open Doors Process Change
In an update to annual Open Doors processes, the Learning Options department will not be collecting Statement of Work documents. Programs are welcome to continue using the example templates posted on the Open Doors Youth Reengagement Getting Started Toolkit webpage to manage agreements at the local level.

FLO PLC Learning Opportunity

Feedback Opportunity: Draft Crosswalk for Online School Programs
Our team is seeking feedback on a Draft Crosswalk that will be used to support continuous improvement for online school programs. The crosswalk aligns the Washington State Teacher and Principal Evaluation and Growth Program (TPEP) with the National Standards for Quality Online Learning (NSQOL), resulting in a tool to guide effective online school program implementation. Re: School and District Directory Review Process for 2026–27 School Year
Summary: OSPI is responsible for establishing a numbering and classification scheme used to identify each school within the state. These school and district directory data are essential for state and federal reporting and have accountability impacts. In order for OSPI to maintain apportionment and student information data systems, it is important that school district administrators pay attention to the accuracy of their school directory information and provide timely notification of changes.
High School and Beyond Plan Support for FLO Students
SchooLinks is a tool to prepare all students for postsecondary success, regardless of diploma or GED pathway. The HSBP team has developed resources to support equitable access for students in non-traditional learning environments.

The 2026 End of Session Summary document lists new bills and budget items that passed during the 2026 Legislative Session that impact students, schools, and the K–12 system.

The 2026 Session District Impacts document lists school district requirements that are either new, resulting from legislation passed this session, or requirements from previous years that are going into effect this school year or next.
2026 Legislative Updates Webinar
The April session of the OSPI-WSAC Webinar Series will share high‑level updates from the most recent legislative session, with a focus on key policy, funding, and implementation considerations affecting K–12 to postsecondary transitions and career and college readiness. Presenters include representatives from OSPI, the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC), and the State Board of Education (SBE). Participants will gain insight into major legislative developments and what they mean for schools, districts, and practitioners in the year ahead. Participants can earn up to 1.5 free clock hours for live attendance.

This online ALE program was recently featured in the Peninsula Daily News. The article highlights practices that support student success, such as mentor teachers assigned to every student.
