State Board of Education to Meet February 11-12 |

The State Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at the Coach House in Olympia, WA, on February 11-12.
On February 11, the Board will start the day by visiting Avanti High School in the morning. Afterwards, the Board will call the meeting to order at 1:45 p.m. Following approval of the consent agenda, members are expected to vote on the appointment of a new Board member. The Board will then swear in newly appointed members. After a short break, the Board will continue discussions related to FutureReady, the Board’s initiative to modernize Washington State’s graduation requirements. The Board will recess at 5:00 p.m.
Following lunch, the Board is expected to vote on approval of the 2026 Charter School Report and on accreditor approvals for residential private schools. The meeting is expected to adjourn at 2:00 p.m.

The public comment period is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on February 11 and for 8:40 a.m. on February 12.
Board meetings are a limited public forum and comments are accepted on current agenda items or matters under the Board's authority. Comments are subject to time limits (typically 2-3 minutes) and other restrictions at the Chair's discretion.
To participate in public comment:
Sign up in advance of the comment period by using the Teams chat feature during the meeting. If you are attending in person, please let a staff member know that you'd like to speak. You must sign up prior to the public comment time noted on the agenda (and above).
If you're providing comment virtually, please ensure you have a reliable audio connection so members can clearly hear and understand your comments. If members are unable to hear your comments, you will be asked to submit your comments in writing to sbe@k12.wa.us.
