March 27th Applications Due Next Week!
|
|
|
If you have not already done so, please complete the 2025 – 2026 Private School Approval Application by the end of the business day April 1.
To check your school’s application status, visit the Private School Approval webpage and download the Approval Application Status Tracker spreadsheet. Use the search function in Column F ("School Name") to find your school.
Note that the Status Tracker is updated about once a week, and that changes to edited applications may not be reflected immediately following those corrections.
Please scroll down through this message for more information concerning common application errors.
You can access the application status tracker on the private school approval webpage.
-
Column B (Submission Status):
-
“Submitted” = Your application has been received.
-
“Partial” = You logged in but did not finish the application by clicking “submit” on the last page.
-
“Incomplete” = We have received your application, but there is an issue that must be resolved before your school is eligible for approval – see column E.
-
Blank = We have not received your application.
-
Column D (Date Reviewed): Blank means your application is still in the queue.
-
Column E (Recommended Action):
-
“Eligible for June 26 Approval” = All materials have been received, and your school will be placed on the list of those recommended for approval at the June Board Meeting.
-
“Eligible for approval pending...” = Missing items like inspections, blank forms, or other issues. Contact the Private Schools Manager for guidance.
-
Blank or Incomplete Documents
Ensure all uploaded forms are fully completed. If you inadvertently uploaded a blank document, email the corrected version to the Private Schools Manager.
-
Certificate of Compliance Not Signed by Head of School
The head of school must sign the certificate of compliance. If someone else signed it in error, please email the corrected version, with the appropriate signature, to the Private Schools Manager.
-
Inspection Documentation
If your school is new, has changed location, or completed renovations in the past year, you must provide documentation of recent health and fire inspections. If inspections are pending, email a written confirmation of your request to the Private Schools Manager, including the scheduled dates and the names of the officials or agencies conducting them.
-
Inconsistent Staffing Numbers
If your school reports that all subject area teachers are certificated but also lists a number for non-certificated staff, email the Private Schools Manager to clarify.
-
One Application Submitted for Multiple Campuses
Each approved private school campus must submit a separate application. If your school operates multiple campuses but submitted only one application, contact the Private Schools Manager for guidance.
-
Missing Application Submission
If your application status is blank or noted as “Partial” in Column B of the spreadsheet, double-check that you clicked “Submit” on the final page of the application.
Addressing these issues promptly ensures smoother processing and avoids delays in approval.
-
June 2: Deadline for corrections and additional materials or corrections, e.g., inspection or staffing reports.
