FutureReady Task Force Update & Provide Input
The Board received an update from SBE staff on its FutureReady initiative and learned about the discussions that took place during the FutureReady Task Force's first meeting. Afterwards, Board members provided input for the task force to consider at its next meeting.
FutureReady is the Board’s multi-year effort to update Washington’s high school graduation requirements, with a legislative proposal expected in 2027. The Board convened a task force to facilitate comprehensive stakeholder engagement aimed at informing the Board’s proposal development. The task force brings together approximately 30 members representing students and families, community-based organizations, K-12 education, post-secondary education, employers, and policymakers.
