The Board will meet October 16-17 at Neah Bay Elementary School. On Wednesday, the Board will review a draft of its 2024 System Health Report. On Thursday, the Board will vote to finalize it’s 2025 legislative platform and receive an update on the state’s Mastery-based Learning Collaborative.

The Board will review a draft of its 2024 education system health report and provide feedback. Every two years the Board is required by law to review the performance of the public education system and make recommendations for improvement to the state Legislature and Governor.
- The Board will vote to finalize its 2025 Legislative Platform. This document highlights the policies and investments the Board will ask the state Legislature to consider during its 2025 session.
- The Board will receive a presentation with a status update on the Mastery-Based Learning Collaborative.
Public comment is welcome at 1:15 p.m. on October 16 and 8:45 a.m. on October 17. Board meetings are a limited public forum and comments from members of the public are accepted on current agenda items or matters under the authority of the Board. Comment is subject to time limitations, typically between two and three minutes, and other restrictions at the discretion of the Chair. Any member of the public wishing to make a comment must sign up in advance of the comment period for the day. Those wishing to submit written comments may do so by emailing sbe@k12.wa.us.
Those wishing to comment remotely must:
- Connect to the meeting via Zoom.
- Use the comment window in Zoom to sign up for comment prior to the time noted on the agenda (and above).
- Have adequate quality audio connection for members to clearly hear and understand your comments. If members are unable to hear your comments you will be asked to submit your comments in writing to sbe@k12.wa.us.
