Private Schools - September 3, 2024

This is a reminder for your school to ensure that the State Board of Education (SBE) has the most up-to-date contact information for your principal or head of school. Here is a breakdown of what you need to do:

Verify Information: Check the Application Statuses List on the Private School Approval page to confirm your school's approval status and the name of the principal or head of school.

Update Information (if needed): If the personnel information is outdated or incorrect, submit a Private School Change of Information Alert form before Monday, September 23, 2024.

No Action Required: If the information on the Application Statuses List is correct, no further action is necessary.

Important Dates and Deadlines

September: Report any changes to school information.

October: Enrollment Reporting for SBE.

November: School Immunization Reporting for the Washington State Department of Health.

February: Private School Approval Zoom Q&A Sessions.

March: Private School Approval Application for SBE.

April: Private School Intent to Participate in Federal Programs forms are due for OSPI.

June 26: SBE Board Meeting to vote for 2025–2026 Private School Approval.

July: Weapons Reporting for OSPI.

Reporting Platforms

SBE Reports and Applications - Instructions will be provided before due dates.

OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) - reports are submitted through the EDS (Education Data System) system.

Department of Health Reports - A portal link will be provided to schools directly.

Certificates: Certificates for schools approved at the June and August board meetings are now available on the Private Schools website.
