ONE Visits Lummi Nation School, Hosts Gathering

The Office of Native Education recently gathered with the Lummi Council for an informative listening session.

ONE staff spent the earlier part of their day at Lummi Nation School to observe classrooms and hear student voice.

"We were excited to continue our presence in the community", says ONE Executive Director, Henry Strom.

We want to inform you of updates to the following bills, which are among many that are being tracked by the Office of Native Education (ONE) at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). HB 1228 Building a multilingual, multiliterate Washington through dual and tribal language education.

Feb 5 Unanimously voted out of the House Committee on Appropriations and sent to the Rules Committee.

Feb 8 Added to the House Floor calendar by the Rules Committee so that it can be voted on by the entire House of Representatives

Feb 12 Passed unanimously out of the House

Feb 14 First reading, referred to Early Learning & K-12 Education.
