Department of Health Youth Advisory Council Report
The DOH Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a community engagement group of 35 young people ages 13-22 from different parts of Washington that meets regularly to discuss important topics in adolescent health, like preventive care, behavioral health, confidentiality and confidential services, minor consent, and sexual and reproductive health. Learn more about the Youth Advisory Council at the DOH webpage: Youth Engagement and the Youth Advisory Council | Healthier Washington Collaboration Portal (waportal.org)
Throughout 2022 and into early 2023, DOH gathered ideas and recommendations from the YAC. Their feedback includes ways to improve youth-serving health care systems and provider interactions. Please consider how you can Integrate their ideas to help make health care, information, and services more relevant, meaningful, and accessible to young people in the state.
