The start of November marks the beginning of Native American Heritage Month, a month dedicated to celebrating the diverse culture, traditions, histories, and contributions of indigenous people.
Please help our colleagues gather information. The purpose of this survey is to gather information that can shape both ARP-HCY advocacy, and ARP-HCY practical assistance. It was this same kind of liaison survey that allowed us to make the case for ARP-HCY in the first place! It is confidential, voluntary, and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

There are many exciting and new changes for the 2024-2025 FAFSA, including a delay until December. FAFSA numbers for unaccompanied homeless youth have plummeted from the pandemic. This webinar will share updates about the homeless and foster youth provisions from The FAFSA Simplification Act, what liaisons can do to help prepare students for the new FAFSA, and how to increase more students experiencing homelessness with completing the FAFSA.

Over 31,000 children aged 0-6 experience homelessness across Washington state, but only 4.1% are enrolled in a Head Start, Early Head Start, or LEA preschool program. Connections to these programs are critical, and homeless education liaisons play an important role in making sure young children are identified and referred. On December 14th, SchoolHouse Connection will share about the Head Start Referral App, which has been piloted in select districts across the state and will now be implemented statewide! Join us to learn how the app works and how you can begin to use it in your district to increase enrollment in early childhood programs.
