Beginning October 2, you can request your free “I Voted” stickers from the Office of the Secretary of State’s Mock Election webpage, download toolkits to hold your own classroom elections, and request classroom visits from elections experts!
Join us for a historic mock election! We’re reaching into Washington’s history and pulling out candidates and issues from over 100 years of state Voters’ Pamphlets. Teachers will be able to choose whether to run the “historical” Mock Election, or the alternate Mock Election, which features hot button issues, like “does pineapple belong on pizza?”
Finally, we’re launching an all-new Mock Election participation dashboard. Teachers who request “I Voted” stickers will be sent a short survey to fill out. Participants can then see their class amongst others that have run the Mock Election.
Sign up to receive news about the Student Mock Election and thank you for teaching your students about the importance of the voting process and participation in elections.
Fresh out of the oven! We've released a BRAND NEW Curriculum Kit following fascinating firearms legislation from the 2023 legislative session. Check out this SAMPLE.
We did all the leg work for you! We culled through hours of committee hearings, floor debates, students’ questions and guest speakers to provide you with a concise lesson plan that covers the legislative process, complete with optional exercises and more.

Constitution & Citizenship Day is observed annually on September 17 (RCW 28A.230.170). The law requires the study of the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Washington state as a prerequisite for graduation from public and private high schools in Washington state.
Additionally, federal law enacted in December 2004 states: "Each educational institution that receives federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution..." to commemorate the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787. The federal law is included in Section 111 of Public Law 108-447 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005. The U.S. Department of Education provides additional information about the law.
In September 1787, the Founders signed the most influential document in American history, the U.S. Constitution. Every year, the National Constitution Center hosts the best Constitution Day celebration in the country. Commemorate this historic day, while also meeting your federal education requirements!
This Constitution Day, the Center celebrates the opening of our newest gallery, The First Amendment. The gallery offers a fresh perspective on the history of the First Amendment and how it impacts us today. This Constitution Day, we present a series of programs and events highlighting the history and meaning of the amendment.
The Center’s annual Constitution Day celebration takes place on Monday, September 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with FREE admission courtesy of PECO. (Admission to the museum is also FREE on Sunday, September 17, in honor of the 236th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.)
