Title III Invitation to Apply – DUE May 23
Follow this link to complete the Title III Invitation to Apply survey by Tuesday, May 23. We will use the information collected by this survey to finalize allocations for our SY 2023-24 Title III grants.
- Please indicate whether your district plans to apply for the SY 2023-24 Title III grant.
- If your allocation is more than $10,000 your district may apply independently. If your allocation is less than $10,000, you may apply for the Title III grant as part of a consortium. If you are applying as part of a consortium, please indicate on the survey with whom you will be applying. If you need help finding a consortium partner, please contact Shannon Martin.
- Please verify your student count for private school enrollment. If there is no change in the private school count reported, the Multilingual Education Office will use the count from your Title III grant from SY 2022-23. If there is a significant change in the number of eligible private school students, and you were able to verify that the private school students were screened with a language assessment and met eligibility requirements, please report that number on the Invitation to Apply survey.
If you have any questions, reach out to Shannon Martin.
Professional Development Report Now Open!

FP 972 must be completed and submitted before submitting TBIP and/or Title III grants in EGMS. Due to a glitch within iGrants, the form will not pre-populate with entries from the 22 – 23 TBIP application.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Sue Connolly.
During the Information Session on May 4, we shared an exciting new opportunity for small and rural districts! The ExcEL Leadership Academy supports classroom teachers through a self-directed online learning program to earn “micro-credentials” on specific topics related to serving multilingual English learners. Teachers work in PLC cohorts to support each other through this learning with a facilitator. The program is FREE and teachers are paid a small stipend for each micro-credential they complete!
We are planning to launch three cohorts in Washington for the 2023-24 school year with priority for teachers in districts with 100 or fewer multilingual learners. For more information or to share this opportunity with your teachers, please see this brochure and these slides. If your district is interested in participating, please complete this survey by May 26th.
We will contact districts that are selected to participate in early June and hope to expand this opportunity in the future!

Are you passionate about helping students? Are you wanting a place to advocate on behalf of multilingual learners?

MEAC is currently developing a statewide Multilingual Learner Strategic Plan and is looking for new members including educators, parents, high school students, and immigrant/refugee community members.
If you are interested in applying to be a MEAC member, please submit your resume and letter of interest to Jovana Arvizu by May 31st.
