State assessments are both a state and federal requirement. The results of these provide valuable information about a student’s skills and knowledge based our state learning standards in English Language Arts, math, and science. This information assists districts and schools in improving instructional practices and curriculum and gives families valuable information about how well their student is doing and where additional help might be needed.
ALE programs serving students remotely or online may need additional planning and communication to ensure student participation. This is a gentle reminder that the sooner these are planned and communicated, the better prepared students and families are.
ALE programs have demonstrated excellent participation in state assessments and the learning options department works to continue this trend. Please reach out to the Learning Options team if you have questions or concerns as you plan.
Bulletin 047-22 is an addendum to a previous bulletin 047-22 on requirements to assist Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in implementation so that all Washington students receive formal instruction in the core disciplines of visual or performing arts throughout their K-12 experience. The addendum provides more information specific to CTE.
