We have received reports that CEDARS and local Student Information Systems (SIS) are not accepting zeros for some fields for the Kindergarten WIDA Screener and for TK student coding.
For the K Screener, if your SIS is reporting an error for the 4-digit Placement Score that contains zeros, you will need to contact your local SIS team to resolve the error. CEDARS is accepting these scores.
For provisionally served TK students, who have no WIDA Screener scores, you should continue to submit a ‘0’ for both Element J20 (4-digit Placement Score) and J23 (Overall Placement Test Score). These will result in an error in CEDARS and will be corrected later this fall (sometime in November) when updates to CEDARS will be made to allow zeros in these fields as valid values.
For questions regarding student coding, please contact AskSI@k12.wa.us

The Zoom at Noon
OSPI is bringing back Lunch with Leslie for the 2022-23 school year. This is an opportunity on Mondays at noon for districts to hear updates from OSPI, ask questions about WIDA assessments, or find out how other districts are approaching testing processes.
- September 26, 2022 | Zoom | Topic: Alternate ACCESS Field Test
For the Title III grant application in EGMS, districts are required to complete a table with their most recent data for multilingual learners and plans for continuous improvement. OSPI’s Student Information team is working on providing updated data for 2022 or districts can use local data.
For data on exited students at 2 and 4 years for both ELA and Math, districts should enter the number and percent for 2 year data for ELA only. The application will be modified to include a comment box below the table and districts may indicate 4-year data for ELA and the 2 and 4 year data for Math in that comment box. This modification has not yet been made. Entering just the 2-year data for ELA is acceptable.
We are providing opportunities for walk through support on how to complete the Title III Forms in the CGA. Please complete this survey to register. A Zoom link will be sent via email upon receipt of the completed survey. (Limited to 10 participants per session.) We will add additional dates if needed.
Workshop Dates:
- Oct. 12 | 3:00 – 4:00 pm
- Oct. 13 | 9:00 – 10:00 am
For general CGA support, please visit the EGMS website or sign up for Office Hours which are offered weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays through October 13.
Please contact Sue Connolly or Shannon Martin with questions.
