The window for the 2021-2022 Year-end Reporting for Open Doors will open in August. An updated guide will be published at that time. Watch your newsletters for updates!
- The report is due by November 1, 2022.
The OSSI iGrant amounts for SY 2022-23 for eligible Open Doors Programs are now confirmed. More detailed information about re-identification for School Improvement supports will be coming soon from OSSI.
Here’s what this means for Open Doors schools or programs identified as eligible for Comprehensive-Graduation Rate supports based on the 2018 WSIF:
- Supports will remain unchanged for the 2022-23 school year.
- iGrants form packages are in development. We anticipate that applications will open in August.
- Comprehensive – Graduation Rate award amounts for form packages 873 & 874 have increased to $55,000.
More details were sent via email to district personnel and building leaders on Tuesday, 6/21. Direct any additional questions to Mary.Adams@k12.wa.us. Reminder: only Open Doors programs that have applied for an R-type school code are eligible for identification.
It's the end of the school year, and it's time to prepare your Open Doors documentation for next year or for storage!

- Initial assessments in Reading & Math
-
Records Retention Schedule:
- All Open Doors documents required for apportionment must be kept for three (3) years beyond the end of the school year (documents from 2018-19 school year no longer need to be maintained).
- These required items are: Age eligibility, credit deficiency or referral, weekly status checks, face-to-face records, student course plans, IAPs earned, choice transfers.
- State Auditor's Office (SAO) Audits
- Audits will start again next school year, and the SAO team will be looking at records from 2021-22. While we expect that there will not be many Open Doors programs selected, it is still in your best interest to verify that you have everything in place and available in the event your district is called for an audit.
- OSPI Open Doors Compliance Reviews are still available as a pre-audit support tool, and all records reviewed are for the current school year.
For questions about Open Doors documentation, retention, or compliance reviews, contact Liz Quayle, Alternative Learning Accountability Manager.
The CR102 and language have been officially filed and the hearing date for the proposed WAC revisions for the Open Doors face-to-face requirements is set for June 22 at 10am via Zoom.
If approved, this will become a permanent rule, and will go into effect September 1, 2022.

One of our Open Doors programs has a peer request!
1. How are other OPEN DOORS programs running a diploma pathway differently than GED pathway?
2. How are other programs providing credit for volunteer experiences, job shadowing, and/or mentoring experiences?
Please submit your responses or explanations to OpenDoors@k12.wa.us
