Students on the State Board are able to connect with the Legislature, voice their opinions on policy issues, and give an advisory vote on Board decisions. This session already, the Board's two student members testified to the Legislature in support of Senate Bill 5497. SB 5497 gives student Board members voting rights on the Board.
Find video of their short testimonies as well as more information about the bill on SBE's latest blog post.
