The Mastery-based Learning Work Group released their latest report with recommendations to the legislature about how mastery-based learning (or competency-based learning) can be used in Washington to support student success.
Recommendations include consulting with parents and students who have been historically underserved by the education system, aligning further work with the Washington State Profile of a Graduate (outlined in the report), and more.

In less than one week, legislative session will begin in Washington State. This year, the Board will focus on a set of ambitious but important legislative platform priorities. They are to center student, family, and community voices in policymaking, and prioritize student, plus educator social, emotional, and mental health. Also, to advance educational equity, diversity, inclusion, and antiracism, and provide equitable access to relevant and engaging learning opportunities.
