Please attend to the required changes as quickly as possible. The TBIP Application Notes and Title III Application Notes documents will guide you through most of the issues that are generating needs work determinations.
When finished with the required changes, please make sure to select the button that returns the application to OSPI for review. We do not read through documents that still show a yellow icon signaling needs work. We review changed applications with a red icon signaling ready for OSPI review.
Family Notification Letters for new and provisional students are required to be sent within 30 days of when the student begins school or as soon as they are screened.
Letters for students who are continuing or exiting the program who took the ELPA21 Annual Assessment can be sent with the ELPA21 score sheets when they arrive in October.
Information on 4-year and 5-year graduation rates for multilingual English learners is required on the Family Notification Letters for new and continuing students in program.
We are providing a spreadsheet with the information needed for 4-year and 5-year graduation rates for 2020. Please review the notes on the first tab to aid in understanding how the information is presented. Tab 2 is for districts without suppressed data. Districts listed on Tab 3 may use the state-level average data listed at the top of Tab 3.
Live Virtual Workshop with WIDA
WIDA will be offering the two 90-minute live, Planning with the WIDA ELD Standards Framework Facilitated eWorkshop with limited enrollment. The WIDA webinars are designed to support educators and leaders with language development within content learning and implementation of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework.
Each two-part session will have 40 participants. Districts with less than 1,000 EL students may send one participant and districts with over 1,000 EL students may send two participants. The ideal participant is someone who will then work to train others within their district.
Registration is limited, OSPI Bilingual Education office will be assigning registration based on District roles and availability. You must attend both 90-min courses to receive clock hours. Apply here for your preferred sessions.
