On September 9th, the Bilingual Education team will share information on new opportunities this year for professional learning and collaboration with Q & A and check-in time during the second half hour. At 1:00, there will be a special session for those new to their role in leading bilingual and EL programs.

Dual Language, Heritage, and Tribal Language Grants
The deadline for the dual language, heritage, and tribal language grants has been extended to September 9th. Please see our website for more information on these grants.

Work is underway to adjust the fields in CEDARS for reporting new WIDA Screener scores. Please wait to code students until you receive additional guidance.
For new or provisional students who took the ELPA21 Annual Assessment in the spring in place of a screener, please refer to pages 11-14 of Student Data Reporting Expectations for Non-ALE-Funded Remote and Hybrid Instructional Models for guidance on correctly updating the student records.

Self-Paced WIDA eWorkshops with Free Clock Hours
Available to all Washington State K-12 educators September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022. To earn free clock hours, register for each workshop through the above pdEnroller links. Login to WIDA Secure Portal. If you don't have a WIDA account, email help@WIDA.us and request an account. Once you have completed the eWorkshop, complete the pdEnroller survey for that eWorkshop. Our office will upload the clock hours to your pdEnroller eCert file.
This series focuses on one or more Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) best practices at the school or LEA level. Our series is a collaboration between the Title I, Part A, the LAP, and the Migrant and Bilingual Education Programs.
Engage All Families Through a Multi-Tiered Approach
Together, let’s explore a multi-tiered approach to PFE strategies, including the indicators for intervention and increased support, and the roles for families.
Participants will create a plan for implementing a multi-tiered approach to PFE in their programs and practices aligned with goals for student growth and learning.
