OSPI received funding from the Legislature (ESSB 5092 Sec. 522(9)) and the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds (ESSB 5092 Sec. 522(33)(h)) to offer two dual language grant programs. The state-funded grant program is for the 2021-22 fiscal year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022) and the ESSER-funded grant program extends over the 2021-23 fiscal years (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2023). The purpose of these grant programs is to provide seed funds to build capacity for effective, sustainable P-12 Tribal, heritage, and dual language programs. Grant opportunities:
-
1-Year Tribal Language Program Grant | $60,000 grant | 6 grants will be awarded for this amount to be spent over the 2021-22 fiscal year.
-
2-Year Tribal Language Program Grant | $60,000 grant | 34 grants will be awarded for this amount to be spent over the 2021-23 fiscal years.
