Senate Bill 5395 went into effect on Dec. 3, 2020, requiring all schools to phase in comprehensive sexual health education by the 2022-23 school year. WA PREP for Healthy Youth, a federally funded teen pregnancy program, is recruiting districts and community-based partners for the next round of funding and technical assistance. Call for reviewers. OSPI and the Dept. of Health will conduct a required review of sexual health education instructional materials in March and April. Qualified candidates (experienced with such reviews in a professional capacity or with teaching sexual health education) may apply to serve as volunteer reviewers.
