ELP Assessment Update for November 5, 2019

ELPA21 Workshops

OSPI has contracted with ELPA21 to provide 2 workshops to support teachers understanding and integrating ELPA21 results in their classrooms to support English learners. The first workshop was well received. The session was an overview of essential foundational information including ELP Standards and ELPA21 assessments, followed by high level application in the classroom. Due to high demand for this session in the Yakima area, a second session of the first workshop will be offered on December 2. The second workshop will be more focused on the application of results in the classroom with less time spent on understanding foundational information. Participants can register for one or both sessions below. OSPI expects these sessions will all fill quickly.

Participation is limited to 50, so please register early to ensure your place. The workshops are intended for general education staff and novice EL staff who seek to better their practice for ELs in their classroom through a deeper understanding of the ELP standards and assessment results.

WIDA Alternate ACCESS Webinar.

WIDA is offering an Alternate ACCESS informational webinar on December 3. The webinar will include an overview of Alternate ACCESS for ELLs, scheduling, basics of administration, and a review of training resources.

WIDA recommends this webinar for Alternate ACCESS test administrators and District Assessment Coordinators.

This webinar is not the required annual test administer training. It will highlight anything new, provide information and answer questions.
