ALE Administrator Meeting

ALE Advisory Committee

The ALE Advisory Committee met on January 10, 2019. Representatives from programs across the state, Washington Association for Learning Alternatives (WALA), and the Alternative Learning Department (ALD) discussed the following topics: 

  • 2019 Legislative update
  • 2019 ALE Administrator meeting
  • ALD site visits 
  • Full-day Kindergarten update
  • Substantially Similar guidance and updated checklist

Serving English Learners and Migrant Students

Do you have online courses that are offered in other languages? Do you have a program that is successfully earning credits for migrant students or English Learners? OSPI wants to know more! Please reach out to ALD Director Rhett Nelson, Rhett.Nelson@k12.wa.us.


CTE in ALE

The 2018 legislature has tasked OSPI with creating recommendations for providing enhanced CTE funding in ALE. The ALD and CTE departments collaborated with stakeholders to develop recommendations. Their report can be found here

WALA Spring Conference Presenters Needed!
